Teeth whitening

Deciding whether to try whitening yourself at home or undergo professional teeth whitening in the office?

Teeth whitening is now a common part of dental clinic care. However, we think you can achieve the best effect by combining both.

At CDC Clinic, we use the Pure Whitening system.

The advantages of whitening your teeth with this method are:

  • Safe whitening that does not damage the teeth
  • Does not weaken or destroy enamel
  • No “white diet” during whitening
  • Stable result
  • Easy care

How is teeth whitening done at the CDC clinic?

  • We first start with a consultation to determine what type of teeth whitening is right for you.
  • Keep in mind that only the teeth themselves can be whitened – not fillings, crowns, etc.
  • In the office, we will take your tooth prints, which we will use to make custom trays. You will apply the whitening gel to the front of the tray each night and place the tray on your teeth.
  • The entire whitening process takes 14 days, during which time the enamel of the teeth becomes more permeable due to the hydrogen peroxide, which makes it easier for it to penetrate the dentin. During this process, the teeth are whitened to a noticeably whiter shade.
  • After home whitening, we start the in-office whitening, which takes place at our clinic. Within approximately one hour, we whiten the teeth using a higher concentration of hydrogen peroxide (6%) to the desired shade.
  • There is no need to worry if your teeth become more sensitive after whitening. Tooth sensitivity is only temporary and will soon subside.

Why do we combine home and in-office whitening?

If you were to undergo only in-office whitening without first following our instructions at home, the whitening agents (hydrogen peroxide) would only pass through the top thin layer of enamel. This top layer of whitened enamel will become darker again quickly. The results of exclusively in-office whitening are unsatisfactory and of short duration.

Wondering how much teeth whitening costs? Take a look at the price list.

The results will be visible for several years. It is mainly influenced by your diet and dental hygiene. Coffee, red wine, tea and smoking have the greatest influence on the colour of your teeth.
