Dentures

Dental prosthetics deals with the replacement of teeth that are already missing and the reconstruction of teeth that have been significantly damaged for some reason. Dental prosthetics has undergone significant development in recent years. Today, we are able to use the most modern materials to make dentures that are as close to the natural tooth as possible.

Equally important is the accuracy of such dentures, which are checked at our clinic under several times magnification.

Prosthetic dentures can either be removable – dentures that do not hold firmly in the mouth. They can therefore be taken out of the mouth and put back in. They either replace all the teeth in the jaw, then they are complete restorations, or only part of the teeth – partial restorations.  The second option, which is much more natural, aesthetic and, most importantly, biological (you don’t take your own teeth out either), are restorations that are fixed in the mouth and thus replace or reconstruct your own teeth fully. We call them fixed dentures:

Dental crowns

A crown is actually a new shell for your tooth. The tooth is prepared (ground) around its circumference, thus creating space for the crown to be reconstructed. After the crown is made in the dental laboratory, it is glued onto the tooth that has been sharpened. The most suitable material for tooth reconstruction with crowns is all-ceramic. This material makes it possible to preserve as much tooth tissue as possible.

Bridges

Bridges are essentially connected crowns that have a free tooth between them to replace the missing tooth. It therefore bridges the gap between two teeth. Although, a gap is nowadays very often solved with a dental implant, in certain circumstances, a bridge is a better solution.

Facets

Facets are thin sheets of ceramic or composite resin. They are used in the front section of the teeth and mainly to correct the shape, position and sometimes the colour of the teeth – that is why they are also called aesthetic veneers. If you desire a so-called Hollywood smile, then veneers may be the right solution for you.

Onlays, inlays, overlays

These are the names given to variously extensive restorations of dental crowns that have been destroyed by caries or injury and can no longer be filled in the office with composite (white) fillings. In this case, a dental laboratory must be involved in the tooth reconstruction to fabricate the desired restoration from ceramic or composite resin. This restoration is then fitted in the office.
Partially removable dentures

They are a suitable solution under certain indications, but our primary aim is always to fabricate a fixed solution if the patient’s dental condition allows it.

Fully removable dentures

A removable total denture is a dental prosthesis. It replaces a toothless upper or lower jaw. However, a certain amount of discomfort must be taken into account, which is manifested in particular by a partial loss of taste (the denture covers the entire upper palate), as well as by the denture becoming loose and wobbly and falling out.
