Dental implants

Nowadays, dental implants have become a common part of dental treatment. They replace either one or more teeth without the need for damage to adjacent teeth that occurs when a conventional dental bridge is made. Furthermore, with implants, teeth in the entire lower or upper jaw can be replaced. Usually 4-6 implants are enough for this treatment. The final restoration is then made of resin, the so-called Brenemark bridge, and also replaces the missing gums, ensuring an excellent aesthetic result. In suitable indications, a ceramic bridge can also be made.

Another indication in edentulous, especially lower jaw, when atrophy (bone loss) has occurred and the total removable prosthesis does not hold, it is possible to place 2-3 implants and make a so-called hybrid prosthesis. This prosthesis is removable but is “snapped” onto the implants. The implants provide excellent retention of such a prosthesis.
